We are going to start having monthly accessibility meet-ups for Accessibility DC at the Martin Luther King Library here in Washington, DC, on May 18, 2010, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

Schedule

Below is a breakdown of the schedule and how the meeting will unfold. Would greatly appreciate it if you can make sure you are on time so we can get started on time.

6:30 PM - 6:45 PM - Welcome everyone.

6:45 PM - 8:00 PAM - Join Jimmy Chandler (@uxprinciples) of Sapient Government Services on May 18, 2010, to learn how to manage your projects to incorporate accessibility for people with disabilities in the most cost-effective manner.  Covered topics will include:

    •    What considerations a project manager must make
    •    How to ensure you are following the roles and responsibilities as defined by the Federal Acquisition Regulations
    •    The accessibility development life cycle
    •    An iterative, multi-staged approach to accessibility project management
 

8:00 PM - 8:30 PM - Closing remarks, clean-up, and information about after event wanderings. We will also be looking for more ideas of what talks people want to here and/or give for the next meeting.

We are looking for someone to lead a discussion or presentation about anything accessibility related for the group. Please contact info@accessibilitydc.org with any talk ideas you would be willing to do.
